WBDO Study Point: Empowering PWDs Through Education
The WBDO Study Point is a dedicated educational initiative launched by the West Bengal Disability Organization (WBDO) to support Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in their pursuit of government jobs and competitive exams.
Recognizing the need for targeted academic support, the WBDO governing committee set up this project to improve the success rate of PWD candidates in public sector examinations and interviews.
Key Features of the Study Point:
-
Volunteer-Led Teaching:
Seven passionate teachers from within the WBDO member community have been conducting regular classes voluntarily for over six months, without charging any fees. -
Subjects and Preparation:
The program covers core subjects, current affairs, interview preparation, and general aptitude, aligning with the syllabi of various state and central government recruitment exams. -
Rapid Impact:
In just the first two months, the initiative motivated and engaged approximately 250 PWD students, creating a supportive, accessible learning environment. -
Inclusive and Accessible Education:
With flexible modes of teaching and a focus on digital inclusion, the project ensures that education is accessible, free, and inclusive for all specially-abled learners.
WBDO Study Point is not just an educational platform — it is a movement of self-reliance, equal opportunity, and empowerment for the disability community across West Bengal.
