Organized by: WBDO Study Point
Platform: Google Meet (Virtual Event)
The West Bengal Disability Organization (WBDO) hosted a heartfelt virtual celebration on 30th August 2023 to mark both Rakshabandhan and Teacher’s Day. Despite it being a spontaneously organized event, the enthusiasm and unity among the participants made it a memorable occasion.
Rakshabandhan Celebration
Though Rakhi tying wasn't part of the virtual event, the essence of bonding and sibling love was deeply felt. The program was designed to foster unity and emotional connection among specially-abled brothers and sisters.
Highlights included:
-
Inspiring messages shared by mentors and members emphasizing love, care, and solidarity.
-
Beautiful musical performances, poetry recitations, Antakshari, and speeches presented by students and mentors, showcasing their talents and emotional expression.
Teacher’s Day Tribute
The event also extended heartfelt gratitude to WBDO’s dedicated teachers and special educators, recognizing their unwavering support in educating and empowering persons with disabilities.
Teachers were honoured virtually through kind words, emotional tributes, and acknowledgments from students and fellow members.
Note of Regret
The organization sincerely apologizes for not being able to record the full event or extend the invitation to all members in advance, as it was not pre-planned. However, those who joined helped make the event a truly engaging and uplifting experience.
This event stood as a testament to WBDO’s commitment to inclusivity, emotional bonding, and recognition of educators — even in virtual formats.
